🪷IDEAL for ORCHIDS: We use a good handful of this grit in our orchid and bonsai mixes to add weight and increase aeration. The naturally porous surface provides sites for root adhesion, improving nutrient uptake.

Similarly to expanded clay pebbles, pumice creates an ideal surface for roots to adhere to, boosting their healthy growth.

Pumice also increases aeration and drainage, encouraging the vital microbiome of your soil, and is sometimes used in hydroponics for the same reason.

How to get the best results with Allgood Farm Horticultural Pumice

Allgood Farm products are free from pesticides and come in their natural, untreated condition.

<p>Note that our Pumice is packaged as it comes to us from the stoneyard and so may contain some dust – for use in aqua-scapes we highly recommend rinsing the product before use.</p> <p>Pumice is highly porous and will soak up any liquid it comes into contact with. If using pumice as a pot-topper, please be aware that it may absorb colouration from the soil and especially from plant feeds – to avoid surdiscolouration always water from the bottom and leave the top of the pot dry. (This also really helps with avoiding infestation from fungus gnats which lay their eggs in the surface layer of damp soil)</p>
