Allgood Farm Chunky British Pine Bark is a rich reddish-coloured bark in chunky 15-35mm graded chips, a natural and sustainable substrate with a huge variety of applications.

Our chunky bark is designed for soil mixes – these bark chippings are mildly acidic and break down very slowly in soil, meaning they improve soil texture over a long period.

By increasing aeration, this bark improves root health, especially for many popular tropical houseplants in the aroid family such as monstera and philodendron.

This premium grade bark also makes a beautiful pot-topper, keeping weeds at bay and helping prevent infestation from fungus gnats.

We love this stuff and use it in many of our own specialist soil blends – whatever you use it for we hope you’ll love it too!

How to get the best results with Allgood Farm Chunky Bark

Allgood Farm products are free from pesticides and come in their natural, untreated condition.

<p>We like to use a good portion of this chunky pine bark in many of our soil mixes.</p> <p>In soil, chunky bark provides a boost of long-lasting structure, creating natural air pockets. The presence of air around the roots is absolutely essential for many plants – in particular many of the large tropicals like Monstera really thrive when their roots are allowed to breath.</p> <p>Adding chunky bark also helps with drainage, preventing waterlogging which can lead to root rot.</p> <p>Our bark is premium quality, and looks great as a pot dressing too – a 1-2inch layer on top of your pots will give a luxurious finish while also helping to prevent fungus gnat infestation. </p>
